15th Street Urban Garden

image

Great things are happening with my community garden project..like it going from “my” to our. Tree House Books has been inspired for quite a few years now to turn this very sad lot, into something beautiful and vibrant

There’s still so much to do. The lot clean up is scheduled for June 15th. I want to do some much that day, and getting it all out of my head and on paper has been hilarious. Every time I add something, I’m inspired to do more. I’ll be sure to be more diligent about posting progress.

This is the lot I’ve adopted in North Philly..right on 15th street. I began fixated on it after strolling by it on my way to pick up some groceries. Directly across the street there is a charming elementary school. I think the deserve better things to look at than a blighted lot full of trash and weeds. I’ve started the process of turning this into a bright, cheery, fruitful community garden. I’ll be posting updates as I go…and ways for people to contribute the success of this much need community asset.
